I sure hope so; I miss New Orleans and am ready to go back for a visit. I wish they would modernize it somewhat around the riverwalk area to entice more visitors. I think it is the best city too!! So much Flavor!! It will get there again; give it some time. The same thing happened to Galveston and now that city is thriving. Force be With You!

Having recently moved to New Orleans, I think that a lot of what makes the city unique is still here. Several neighborhoods are still working at recovery, but the French Quarter, CBD, Garden District, Uptown, etc., are very much alive. If the programs to get money into the hands of residents trying to move back and put their lives back together weren't such a bureaucratic nightmare it might happen quicker, though.

I hope so. It is quite a city to visit. I vacationed there in 2004 and had a great time plus I got to catch up on the great music. I'm sure a lot of the people that made the city what it was have moved on but eventually the spirit of the city will reclaim NO. It will take a lot of time and effort. My sister was going on about about how stupid it is to have a city that is lower than sea level and I have to agree but I told her that you have to go to NO and appreciate it to understand exactly why it has to come back. All I can do is promise to return and spend $. Hope it helps.

i'm going to be incorrect. yet i don't think of it has to do with race. i think of it has to do with feeling somewhat hopeless approximately New Orleans. i understand that i can donate $22 a month to little ones international and sponsor a baby who will get carry of dental and medical care, food, educational supplies and outfits. $22 isn't adequate in usa. i think like i've got not got adequate to make a distinction right here, yet that my money stretches further someplace else. That reported, I honestly have donated to help people in New Orleans and different cities hit by using the hurricanes. I additionally helped to create a job in my employer while a stranger confirmed up searching for a job in Northern VA after dropping each and every thing different than her infant interior the flooding. We did not have a job on the time, yet I fought for it, and my boss unfold out yet another place, and a coworker helped her discover an place of residing and took up quite a number of outfits and toys for her and her infant. it is in simple terms one relatives, yet we tried to help the place we could.

I don't know that "normal" is what I'd call it. It won't be the same and in their vast attempt to make it better, it'll never be the same, which actually doesn't mean better if you're a native.
I say "Good Luck" if you're a native with desires to return, and I hope the political red tape doesn't deter you!

I hope so - but I have a feeling it won't. They won't be able to forget what happen and what that city went through.
