1. Stan Mikita - Has the two highest PIM totals for a scoring champion (154 in 1964-65 and 146 in 1963-64)
2. Gordie Howe
3. Maurice Richard - First to join the 500 goal/1000 PIM club
4. Rick Tocchet - Should have been the first member of the 30 goal-300 PIM club (31 goals, 299PIM in 1988-89 - but he missed 15 games)
5. Ted Lindsay - Won the 1949-50 scoring title while getting 141 PIM. Five times in the top 10 scoring, and every year over 100 PIM.

Note: While Stan Mikita has the two highest PIM totals for scoring champions, his next two scoring titles have the two LOWEST PIM totals since 1950 (Prior to 1950, the scoring champ routinely had single digit PIM totals, since 1950, the lowest totals are Mikita's 12PIM in 1966-67 and 14 in 1967-68. Gretzky has the third lowest PIM total since 1950 with 16 in 1990-91)

1. Gordie Howe (Even though he only had 1 Gordie Howe Hat trick!)
2. Cam Neely
3. Rocket Richard
4. Brenden Shannahan
5. Dino Ciccorelli (sp)

Your Top 5 are all players that any team would love to have. It was tough to think of some different players. I sadly had to leave Gary Roberts off my list. :(

Red Wings fan, huh???

In 1987-88 Bob Probert had 62 points in 72 games...
Made the all-star team....
and (here is the kicker) racked up 398 penalty minutes while being the toughest player in the league. By far the best numbers ever put up by a player with that level pim's.
That same season, he went on to lead the Red Wings in playoff scoring with 21 points in 16 games and 51 pim's...

Food for thought.......The 3 individual Senators who tied for the lead in NHL playoff scoring this past year had 22 points in 20 games each (and 34 minutes in penalties COMBINED.)

Almost every guy mentioned in the above answers were scorers who could fight if they needed to, but since your question mentions fighting first and then scoring, there is a massive oversight to all of these lists and a bigger one on your part while claiming to be a Wing fan.

If you asked for scorers who could fight....I would change my answer.

I've seen many good choices and several of those mentioned multiple times.

I'd have to add Adam Graves to the list. In addition to his one 50 goal season, Graves posted three 30 goal campaigns and four 20 goal ones.

He was also good for 100 pims until his back gave out towards the end of his career and never backed down from any comers. I think Rob Ray still has knots in his head from the 3 times Graves pounded him in one game.

The rest of my list includes Neely, Tocchet, Howe and Shanahan. The latter may not have dropped the gloves too often, but he's as tough as they come (in spite of BG Warrior's opinion).

Honorable mention to Lindros until his concussions began to outnumber his goal totals.
