I am a huge Soriano fan, I've liked him since he first came up in 1999. He is a very exciting player, and it's horrible for both him and the Cubs. He got off to a slow start, but was really turning it on. His loss is huge for the Cubs considering they were one of the hottest teams in baseball. They may find someone to fill in, but they won't find anyone to replace his enthusiasm, production, and energy.
It hurt just to see him pull up running to third base, that was nasty.

I am a HUGE Chicago Cubs fan. I believe that the Cubs will benefit from this injury.
Here are my reasons:
With Sori out, Pie will get more playing time, which will increase the depth of the roster going into the playoffs.
Kerry Wood is back as a reliever. As long as he can pitch well, he can shorten the game for opposing offenses, which puts less pressure on the lineup.
Derrek Lee has been swinging the bat really well lately, so he can help to pick the lineup up, along with A. Ramirez.
Ryan Theriot, aka "The Riot", will be a very good leadoff guy for us. He brings a lot of energy to the team, and he hustles all the time.
Bottom line, the Cubs will make the playoffs this year, and when Soriano returns, he will only add to the depth that the team has. I'm not worried about this.

I don't mean this as a knock on the cubs because I love them, but Soriano wasn't really doing that much for us anyway. He barely ever hits, and he's really started to screw up in fielding. He's caused more than one collision in the outfield because he doesn't know the rules yet - the center fielder is the king. He calls all the shots, and it's his decision to make as to who catches the ball.
