All I know is that I couldn't bear to watch anyone suffer!
The irony is..... we put animals down all of the time. When a horse breaks his leg, there is no option. His life is taken so that he won't suffer. Cats and dogs are always put out of their misery. But for some reason, we have such a struggle with this when it comes to humans. We preach that it is inhumane to let an animal suffer. We as humans...... are mammals.... and it is equally inhumane to watch us suffer. I suppose I feel that all souls, man or beast, would be considered equally.

i think you're confusing this with suicide or assisted suicide. With euthanasia, the concern (or sufferer) does not make the alternative. interior the fictitious tale, "Logan's Run", individuals of society have been euthanized while they reached a undeniable age (the age differs in e book and picture). Logan, an enforcer of this coverage, desperate he did not choose to die so he ran while he became of age. Euthanasia is from the Greek and potential 'a reliable dying', however the honestly goodness might count number on your attitude, does not it? i'm against euthanasia. Assisted suicide for the terminally ill could be an selection while the concern is suffering. .

If all legitimate means have been exhausted, and the person is only alive because of artificial means and would die after shortly being taken off of life support then that to me is euthanasia in a proper prespective.

If a patient is in such pain and terminally ill and requests it either while sick or in a written directive, it should be legal.
I don't think I'd like to leave it up to HMO's to decide who to pull the plug on though.

If all parties are in agreement, and a person is just waiting to die, under painful conditions, I am not against it.
