Yea if you're looking for some good Italian movies I'll give you a couple...

The Bicylcle Theif (Ladri di biciclette)
Life is Beautiful (La Vita e Bella)
Divorce, Italian Style (Divorzio all'italiana)
Bread and Tulips (Pane e tulipani)

Those are just some very good Italian movies that I have seen and recommend.

Other movies that you may like based on your interests are:
La Dolce Vida. It was directed by Federico Fellini and was very well done.
You also may like Y Tu Mama Tambien, Casablanca, and The Godfather Parts I and II.

Hope this helped, I love movies!

Finally, someone who isn't forcing me to choose just one!

-"La Vita e Bella" is also one of my favorites, but I hate how the only way I see it here is in the dubbed English.
-"The Big Sleep" I am a huge Bogart fan and this is my favorite of his movies.
-"Singin' in the Rain" I love Gene Kelly and I love musicals
-"Crash" It is such a powerful movie and won a bunch of oscars for a reason.
-"It's a Wonderful Life" I love watching this wonderful story every Christmas.

ok those are only a few on my very long list, but those would have to be my top 5.

Godfather remains one of my favorites of all time. Most guys like that movie. It has so many good lines in it. "Badda bing" and "Make him an offer he can't refuse" and "respect"
