A genral rule is if u can walk on it and bend it its probobly just a sprain. But you have so many bones in your foot it would be incredably hard to tell what it was without a x ray. If you cant afford a hospital visit here are some things you can try. put ice on it every 20 minites then take it off for another twenty. Take a pain reliver so the blood will pump to the area to heal better. Try to keep yout foot above your heart when laying down . Stay off of it as much as you can. After a COUPLE of day the swelling and bruising doesnt go down the slightest i suggest you go to get x rays.

You will not know if it's broken unless you get it xrayed.

When I broke my foot it didn't swell more than when I sprained it. One difference, however, was that when I broke it I couldn't put any weight on it at all.

ICE it immediately and all tonight and you must get it x-rayed.

Your feet are just too important to take chances on having foot pain the rest of your life because you didn't take care of it properly.

swelling and change of color usually indicates a fracture. You're going to have to have an xray taken as soon as possible. Stay off of your foot and place ice packs on it For ten minutes, several times until you see the doctor.

Go see a doctor. I walked on a broken ankle for 10 days thinking it was just a sprain.

Follow the acronym R.I.C.E. if you're in doubt. Rest (stay off it if ya can), Ice, Compression (ACE wrap) and Elevation (Keep your foot up on something if you can). Go see a doc, it never hurts to get an x-ray.

An x-ray is the only sure way to tell. Go to the doctors asap so that you do not do any more damage to yourself.
