Think I was 5 or 6 when my parents were having another party and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" was playing... The moment I heard the words "Hey teacher leave us kids alone" was the moment I became a slave to Rock music.

By the time I started kindergarden, I knew all the words to Led Zepplin's IV, The Wall, CCR's Credence Gold, a LOT of Eagles songs and even more Beatles songs.

I remember, distinctly, going for pizza with my mom and dad (at probably age 4 or so), and my dad giving me quarters to play the jukebox. MY choices? "Heartache Tonight" "Hotblooded" and "Ticket To Ride." (I had to stand on something to reach the buttons, too!)

Following that, I remember when my dad trusted me enough to put the needle on the record - a VERY big deal (as I'm sure children of the late 70s can attest to!).

As a young kid, 5 or 6, I remember a cool looking 8-track (that's right- 8-track) my father had. It had a picture of a guy giving the thums up. The thumb was painted like an American flag. The man was Don McLean and the song was "The Day the Music Died". I wore that 8-track, and my father's ears from begging to hear it, out.
My life has never been the same.

When I was maybe 6 or 7 my mom married my step dad and he introduced us to a lot of rock music, But my most vivid memory is sining my little heart out to Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I had no idea the song was about drugs, I just knew I loved it. Since then I have always loved Rock music, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers is still one of my favorite bands.

Hmm...until I was about 10-11 years old, all I listened to were soundtracks. Then one day looking for my Star Wars soundtrack, I discovered my mom's The Very Best of The Who disc. Wondering what this was, I decided to give it a try. I must have played "Won't Get Fooled Again" 100 times in a row. Ever since then I've been addicted to rock.

first grade, roger parron's older brother went to Detroit to see KISS (one of the concerts recorded for alive) and Roger brought in the program, i remember looking at the pix and being amazed. My first 5 albums were Love Gun, Destroyer, Alive II, Rock and Roll Over and Double Platinum in that order.
My Folks listened to Johnny Mathis and Eddie Arnold, so they were no influence

the year was 1956 and my mother was watching the Ed Sullivan show because she wanted to see this young man from Tennessee called Elvis Presley. My mother was from Tennessee. I was five years old and can remember dancing along with his music in front of the television.

later in life I got to see him in person many times in Las Vegas. What an incredible performer.

Wow, you must have been the one with the cool parents. I don't even want to mention what was in my mom's collection. For me, it was when the 80's began. We flushed disco down the toilet and had a new invasion of bands like Duran Duran, INXS, Wall of Voodoo, Berlin, Billy Idol, Adam Ant. etc.

I have an uncle who is only 4 years older than I am and as a kid, I idolized him. I rode with him to the store one day and he popped "Aerosmiths Greatest Hits" into the casset player. "Dream On", "Walk This Way", "Kings and Queens", you know the one. I was hooked, right then and there.
