I say yes. There were a ton of other players that were doing it and it was NOT ILLEGAL in baseball at the time. Not that that makes him right. I wish he would retire today, but he was not alone. I'd love to know how many pitchers he faced that were juiced up. It should count, but everyone who follows baseball will know what Barry was all about and they can decide for themselves if they recognize it as the record or not. There's not much MLB can do about it. He never got caught. He's going to hit more homers than Hank Aaron. End of story.
But, it won't matter for long. Alex Rodriguez will break the record soon enough.

no longer hassle-free question. there is lots information to signify Barry Bonds has taken some overall performance-improving meds. standard information isn't his physique, yet his head, that's gimongus while in comparison together with his in the previous days. besides the incontrovertible fact that, there isn't any concrete information that has been got here upon (different than hearsay) that he has taken steroids. I say no, in general because of the fact Hank Aaron grew to become into basically 5' 11", and weighed 180lbs at his heaviest. He had golden wrists - bat speed is as substantial as capability while hitting a house run. Bonds has large bat speed and 240lbs of muscle. he's probable the only man or woman to placed on 50lbs of muscle in his 30's and function the capability to accomplish at his point. That by myself is suspicious.

of course they should count and why shouldn't they? he has not been proven guilty so people should stop treating him like he is. besides you still have to have great hand eye coordination to even hit the baseball. hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in all of sports. you can fail 7 out of 10 times and still be considered a good hitter. steroids may have made barry stronger but he still needed to lift weights to get bigger. everyone should just sit back and relax and enjoy a great player playing a great game

Maybe the question should not be whether the numbers count, but whether he should be considered a normal, natural man. He did, after all, hit the homers. But perhaps he was a giant (no pun intended) when he did it. So there can be stats for men and also separate stats for hulks.

Why not? I know that he probably used steroids, but without proving it there is no way we can stop his trek for the record. AS of right now, there is no proof of his steroids use, besides the fact that he started his career a puny little guy and is now jacked.

Barry Bonds, will break the record and it will count no matter what Hank,Bud,or what the fans think.i don't care for him myself but you have to give Barry Bonds his props. and Bud Selig and Hank Aarons have shown they have no class for not acknowledging Barry Bonds.

I don't see why not. Although you don't agree with his use of steroids, its his choice to use them, just like it is the choice of every other MLB player. Our society is changing and there will always be more and more supplements and drugs to give people the edge. However, using steroids also has its downsides, Bonds will/does live with them. Contrary to popular belief, steroids only make it easier to get stronger, they don't give him raw talent without hard work. Should they count them yes. Millions of people use steroids, however it takes real talent to apply them to a sport.

This won't be a popular opinion, but yes, they should.
Baseball is a sport where the doctrine of "if you aren't cheating you aren't trying" prevails.
There has been cheating on so many levels. The Rockies put balls in a humidor to help keep them from flying out of the park.
Gaylord Perry's spit balls...
I'm fine if he gets an asterisk.
