"Services to humanity" is not exactly the way I would phrase it.
(a) He created the autobahn which made it really easy for the troops to go from one location to another really quickly. The idea was copied by Eisenhower and that's how the United States Interstate system got started. And for the same reason, not for civilian use but to be able to move troops fast from one place to another, except this was in preparation for the war with the USSR which never happened.
(b) Robert Goddard in the US was laughed at. Wernher von Braun in Germany wasn't and he made the V2 rocket. After the war all of the German scientists were brought into service by either the US or USSR for the next war that never happened. All of the early rocket flights in the US were started by using/modifying the V2 rocket.
(c) The first jet plane was made in Germany. The ME 262 could outrun and shoot down anything. Lucky for the Allies, Hitler was obsessed with making it into a bomber so the plane never was used until late in the war and then it was to late for Hitler, but lucky for Allies. The ME 262 was used as the prototype of the new jet planes in the US and USSR.
(d) The Nazi helmet. Better in protecting the head than the US, British or USSR helmet. Also used as a symbol for Nazis. It shocked me when the US Army changed it's classic helmet to match the look of the Nazi helmet. Only a few people complained when this happened. People just have too short a memory...

Yes, it's true that he cleaned the criminal element out of The Third Reich. The problem is that he and The N.S.D.A.P. (Nazi's) used criminal methods to achieve this. He also started a program with Ferdinand Porsche to try and make it easier for German Citizens to purchase an automobile (VW Beetle). He also was responsible for creating the Autobahn (similar to our interstate highway system) and other infrastructure that helped modernize Germany and bring it into the twentieth century. Also because of his militarization programs, Germany was one of the first industrialized western nations to recover from The Great Depression of the 1930's. That's just a few. He also organized the youth and instilled great national pride in the population of Greater Germany which included the Czech Sudetenland and Austria. I also personally don't have a problem with the fact that he invaded The Soviet Union. I don't see him as any worse than any of our Presidents that presided over the Indian Wars and Indian relocation projects that relocated them from their indiginous lands to Oklahoma. He doesn't hold a candle to Stalin or Mao when it comes down to hurting and killin his own people. He was loved and adored by the average German of his time.

Ever since World War I, Germany was in utter economic shambles. With the Treaty of Versailles and the various allied nations trying to impose restrictions on it, there was little the country could do to maintain its national identity. One of the biggest areas of controversy was the fact that most allied nations wanted Germany to accept responsibility for starting the war. Many of the German people, however, did not see their nation at fault for starting it, nor did they feel they had even "lost" the war. The Treaty was supposed to be more of a peace negotiation rather than a surrender.
Essentially this, along with the HUGE reparations that were being demanded and Germany being stripped of its colonies, the country was going down the tubes so to speak. It had no way to repay the allies in its war debt and had to borrow money from the United States to try to do so.
This is where Hitler came in. In short, he rose to power, though not necessarily through completely peaceful means. He restored industry and economic prosperity to his people. He created jobs and gave them back their sense of national identity. Even in the United States, he was hailed as a hero (similar to Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein before we went to war with them) with the city of Detroit even presenting him the key to the city (I bet they regreted that one later).
In short, Hitler, had he not gone and done a little thing like start another world war, could very well have been remembered as one of the greatest men of the 20th century. Instead he's remembered as one of the most horrible men of all time, though one of the most influential too. He brought a country back from utter defeat and destruction and brought hope to his people... and then threw it all away.

If Hitler had not existed, Mel Brooks might never have written "The Producers."
As for cleansing German society of gangs, what happened was that a bigger gang of criminals moved in...the Nazi party.
Go and read some history, little boy.

If Hitler had died in 1938, he would be remembered as one of Europe's greatest leaders. He united the German people, turning back the depression in his country more successfully than any other leader in Europe or America. He stood against communist intrusion into Germany, while leftists gained power in many other countries. He championed scientific and military development.

He united his people,
and that was a broken and largely lost population with economy, military and identity woes...
He was a great speaker, and motavtionalist.
Had he not been so hell bent on killing the jewish people he would have been one of the greatest rulers ever... than again he did use the extermination of jewish people as a way to unite the germans, and from there it just got uglier.
Also the muslim world at large reguards him as one of the best from europe, as his atrocities to the jews gave muslim nations some payback, its widely known that many muslims still reguard hitler with great appreciation.
