So here's the story!
I'm in best buy the other day and I see that 300 is out on DVD. The truth is, however, that I avoided seeing this movie when it was in theatres for the simple fact that EVERYONE WAS TALKING ABOUT SO DAMN MUCH TO THE POINT WHERE I WAS EXPECTING A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! When I say everyone was talking about it, I mean everyone was hyping it up to be such a fantastic film, and one guy even had the audacity to say that it was better than Gladiator WTF? So I just want to know whether or not i should spend $19.99 on this movie that is "BETTER THAN GLADIATOR!?" lol

It's visually a lot better than Gladiator, the story isn't quite as good. Not so much personal drama of murdered families and lecherous brotherly love, etc.
But it's sooooo much fun, like Sin City. If you enjoyed that movie, then get it.

It's not as good as Gladiator, but it definitely looks better. If you're a fan of Roman times, you should pick this movie up. It doesn't have that much of a plot but it does have a lot of action. I'm not a big fan of Hollywood blockbusters or action flicks, but I greatly enjoyed this movie.

300? That was a bada** movie. Havent seen Gladiator. I'll have to go rent that one.

It was very good. I think you will probably like it. Anyway, the risk of being disappointed is no reason not to see it, it's a small risk, with a potentially big payoff (your enjoyment). Just rent it, if you're that worried.

Why don't you rent it first?
And Yes, the battle scenes are amazing, I would pay $20 just for that.
