Every now, and then sure, regularly no! it can throw sleep chemistry off, we have natural sleep hormones called melatonin, I answered this question more specifically yesterday, so if click on my avatar you see yesterday's answer. Try Chamomile tea or Tension Tamer, at your retail grocery's, or a bottle of the melatonin, $6.00 at Walgreen's, for a week or two, this may help regulate your sleep.

I don't think it hurts if you stay under the recommended dosage. Also it is a good idea to take a day or two off here and there.

I just bought some children's liquid benedryl so I can take smaller doses. It has 12.5 mg per 5 ml. So I am not stuck taking the 25 mg that is usual in adult allergy pills. I had some 12.5 mg strips and they seemed to work ok and didn't leave me groggy the next morning.

The otc sleep meds Sominex and Nytol are mainly if not all the same as benedryl.

I am not a doctor so if you have a real concern or any reason to think it might be bothering you than check with your own doctor to make sure.

Accidents will occur, that's why they're referred to as injuries. My daughter fell off my mattress, now not as soon as however two times... I'm quite NOT a nasty mom. I promise!! Both occasions it used to be on the grounds that I needed to pee like a maniac... The first time, she used to be handiest two months historic and magically began rolling... some thing I had now not visible her do... The moment time, I suggestion I had enough pillows round her, barricading her within the specified core of my queen mattress... I'll be danged if that little critter did not begin crawling... BACKWARDS!! And off she went. She is/used to be absolutely exceptional. Thank goodness. Needless to mention, she remains at the flooring any more. Crazy matters will occur, and as your pal will get extra comfy with being a mother, she is going to observe that. She can handiest do the great that she will do. Don't count on miracles. I'm definite if her mother had been nonetheless alive, there could be a few beautiful humorous reviews approximately her falling on her little head. Plus with all of the submit-being pregnant hormones... she is being too rough on herself. She simply demands to take a deep breath... and chill out. It gets greater. Really!! :)

Benedryl is okay to take every day so long as you don't take more than 2 pills every 4 hours.

Benedryl makes me sleepy too, but the next day I'm tired. If it doesn't make you tired the next day, you're in the clear. Benedryl used to be a prescription sleep aid. Lots of people used to take it every night.

Eventually that will no longer work. I got into this habit of taking two nyquil gel caps and two tylonol PM's. I eventually had to stop because I didn't think that was healthy. The only thing that I noticed was that I woke up really groggy and lasted most of the morning and afternoon.

Taking any medicine that you don't need is bad for your health, why don't you try some of the natural ways for falling asleep, other than taking the wrong drug for the wrong symptom? I think its bad Ju-ju.
