1. Miami is bright. It's rarely gloomy which can affect your mood. Why else do Northerners come here?
2. The diverse cultures allows you to have friends and neighbors with different views than you which makes for great conversation.
3. Strangers talk to strangers all the time at restaurants, cafes, bookstores, etc.
4. There's always free stuff to do like jazz at UM, gallery nights, the beach, or just biking in the Gables, Pinecrest, Grove, etc.
5. You can wear flip flops anywhere!
6. You can't get a good cafecito, pastelito or cuban bread anywhere else in the USA.
7. In most cities people criticize their local politicians but here we can at least say it's like a spanish soap opera.
8. In the morning you can go to the beach, then in the afternoon hangout at a cafe, and finally in the evening go to a club.
9. I love the crazy drivers!
10. I admit some people are rude but if you smile to someone in Miami they will usually smile back because we are friendly. You know there aren't many people outside of Miami who have the nerve to dance in the street with you.

I agree with everybody above...I love the diversity of the people...their ethnicities, languages, styles, different foods, different music...it makes me have a broader view of things in life and i learn something new all the time, I love the nightlife-there is plenty of that :-) , the weather, the beaches, the shopping(when i actually got money...lol), the entertainment, the special annual events...i don't know how to really explain...but I love Miami...it's my city...

Today, Miami is undergoing a massive building boom that ranks second worldwide and first in the United States for the most buildings under construction that will be over 492ft with over 24 of such buildings currently under construction. Miami's skyline also currently ranks third in the U.S. behind New York City and Chicago and 18th in the world
But Miami really comes alive at night.
