The best thing to do is to touch them on the hand or arm or shoulder while you're talking to them. Or, if you're really brave, you can "accidentally" lean into them a little bit.
As far as what not to do . . . I can't really think of anything. It's all good.
However, if they don't start flirting back pretty quickly, you might want to move on to another guy.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but charm is in the ear of the listener. The girl guys find most charming is not the one who draws attention to herself, but who makes a guy feel like he is the centre of attention. I mean genuinely listening, being interested in what a guy thinks and cares about, drawing him out -- not pretending to be interested, being fake, phony or plastic. And definitely not drawing the wrong kind of attention to herself though loud, vulgar clothing or manners. As King Lear says in Shakespeare's play, "Her voice was ever soft, gentle and low, / An excellent thing in woman ..."
