I made up the name Elconney, pronounced El-co-knee. Yes, i was bored at the time and was making up random things in my head. I know it sounds kind of like balcony. However what would you think if you met a little girl with this name? Just wondering!~

Thanks

This is what I would think:

"It makes it tought to get personalized stuff right off the rack, as it is always special order."

"Elconney? Like balcony?"

"Well, except for the balcony quip, it is tough to make real fun at that name."

When I first read the name, it reminded me of Alcyone for some reason ~ I'm not quite sure why.

Coney is an old word for a wild rabbit, or the fur of a wild rabbit. It was originally pronounced to rhyme with Honey, but the pronunciation changed because that pronunciation had become a ... bad slang word (which has since evolved into a word that is often listed as the most offensive curse word). The word is now pronounced just like the latter part of your name.

I am not a huge fan of madeup names. I suppose it does have a neat ring to it. But, I'd prefer it more in the middle name spot. And something seems off about the spelling. I like Elcony more.

I personally do not like it at all and I would think it was really odd that the child was named something like that. But on a different note somebody else might really like that name.

It's not bad, although the hard "c" consonant followed by "kn" doesn't totally flow gently. But variety is the spice of life.

It also rhymes with "alchemy". Don't know if that's good or bad...

personally i think its kinda cute...

however, we should really be careful in choosing a name for a child, children can be cruel, especially in playgrounds...

one thing that we might also consider are the kind of jokes a child might suffer if she would have a not so common name...

If I ever meet someone with that name I wouldn't judge them, but I would think in my head that it's a sorta strange name.
