Absolutely.
Being positive and surrounding yourself with positive people is a habit like any other habit.
It can be learned.
Positive behavior is absolutely a key to success.
We are what we think.
We do as we think.
Positive thinking is absolutely mental Penicillin.
It buffers us and creates a solid coat of armor that protects us and allows us to rebound.
I'm not talking about Pollyannish, giddy silliness here, just realistic, happy, and a can do attitude that things are going to be better...and making it so.

I've done that a couple of times. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood I try to dress nice. It helps to make me feel better

It's not a trick. "Laughter is the best medicine". If one can interrupt the cycle of a depressed moon at any one point, chances are that one will feel better. Any of the following will help: watching a comedy; smiling;laughing at jokes; etc.

I read in Good Housekeeping, or a similar periodical, that smiling for a little bit, even if it's false can make you feel better. I gave it a shot today and I think it may have worked. So, I say yes more or less.

I think it's possible, but I fake being in a good mood all the time and rarely does it make me feel any better.

Yeah, actually, it can. In my early stages of depression, I coudl pretend I was in a good mood, and I eventually was, but of course, later on pretending just didn't work.

But yeah, pretending does actually help.

For me it's never worked.. I usually end up in a worse mood then the one I started in.
