It really depends on what you mean by "after working on my laptop".

Have you installed new hardware, software, reinstalled Windows, or uninstalled software?

It may simply be that you need to reinstall your sound card driver. (It could be that whatever you've installed/uninstalled has corrupted the driver.)

If you have onboard sound, you'll find the driver on the motherboard drivers CD.

i dont understand the question. what do u mean no audio system again. Um is there something wrong with the speakers on your laptop?

The built in speakers on laptops arn't that great to start with buy yourself a pair of decent speakers.

you may have accidentally disabled audio, try to diagnose audio on the laptop
