It is called Kurt Cobain About a Son and www.imdb.com says it was released in Japan on August 4.

I think you've possibly overhead someone talking about the novel. Kurt Cobain/Nirvana are an important plot point in Nick Hornby's novel "About a Boy", on which the Hugh Grant movie was based.
