The word is properly spelled 'epiphany' ... try looking up that spelling. An 'epiphany' is when you 'realize something extremely important' ... and this 'relates' to the story in the Bible where Christ went to the 'mountains' with a few of his Apostles and they all 'saw Christ' with Moses, Elijah, and Abraham ... which 'told them' that Jesus was 'more than just a traveling religious teacher' but was 'the Son of God.' That was an Epiphany. In the 'Catholic' and Episcopal Church 'year,' Epiphany is always celebrated on January 6 ... which is the day that Jesus led this 'expedition to the mountain' and is ALSO the 'Feast of the Magi' ... the 'three kings' who came to 'celebrate' the birth of Jesus and give him the 'three gifts' of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

You've misspelled epiphany. See if that solves your dictionary problem.

An epiphany is an appearance of, especially, God, but also of other superhuman entities.
