You can beef up your suspension all you want but if your car to stick to the road it all about the tires and it don't nesscary have to be wider. I recomend sticky Michelin tires the ones that come stock on the Dodge SRT-4 because I ripped around a corner at 85mph and those tires stuck to the road as if it had adhesive on them. this info is from my experience of racing in the streets of Las Vegas!!!

stiffer lower suspension. wider lower profile tires which may require wider rims. bigger rims will will help due to having to have a lower profile tire to maintain tire diameter
