Ummm... no... my spouse has a job that requires her to work. She does come home and tell me she loves me, but it seems a little crazy for "at least twice a day"....
If I get a call during the day, it's usually to see what's for dinner. Though it sounds cute theoretically, it seems like she's/he's very insecure or without stimulation throughout his/her day... get that checked out.

He has been lately because he's been getting offers from his boss and another company so he's been keeping me updated. Other than lately, he never calls me at work unless he needs me to do something important on the way home or whatever, which is like maybe once every three months tops. I call him usually when I get off ( I get off at 4) to see when he'll be home so I'll know when to start dinner.

no. Work is work. Unless your at work all the time and don't have much time for your honey i don't think that its necessary. When you're at work your head has to be in the game. There will always be time for play. Plus if your honey is ALWAYS calling you to tell you that he loves you etc. it might get a little old after a while. YOu want to keep the relationship fresh. Be a little exclusive girl, make him wait for his baby!

Mine tries to but it always seems to be at the worst times. I have a very high stress job and need to focus for about 10 hours. Most times I don't get a break except for a lunch. Poor wife thinks I hate her right now.

Yes hahaha. He'll be bored and call to say hi. He won't talk long because he knows I'm busy unless I tell him I'm not. Or he'll call to ask me to pick up some McDonald's or Wendy's if I have nothing planned for dinner. It's as if he was calling me to place an order and have it delivered :)

Before I became a stay at home mom, my dh would call at specific times to see how I was doing or see if I needed anything.

Mine does. Not for that though.
Usually it's a question or a funny thing that just happened.
But I call her FROM work too.
(she works nightshift, so it doesn't work the other way around.)

Let's just hope that he really does love you and isn't just checking to make sure where you are before he gets "busy" at home with someone else. Ooops, sorry you never thought about that.
