I recently just worked for a big company where instead of paychecks you get your money through direct deposit. well anyways like a week before i quit i closed my savings account which was the account that the company put my checks into and just made a checking account and i never had told the company that i had closed the savings nor gave them the checking . dumb but i forgot. well now 2 days passed since they sent the check to my savings and well its closed so technically i have money just floating around i guess cuz they sent me the check stub iiin mail just like they always do.
how can i get my money? or is it impossible to cuz the company already sent the money to get direct deposited.
thanks.

Don't panic. Do you really think that your former employer is now off the hook since your account is closed? That's crazy talk. Just call the payroll department and explain the situation. They should be able to cut you a check once they verify that the direct deposit transaction was unsuccessful.

The bank will have rejected the direct deposit since the account was closed. So in effect they sent the money back to the employer. Call the payroll department and tell them what happened. They should mail you a paper check.

They company knows that your former bank rejected the direct deposit. Call them and make arrangements for them to pay you EITHER by mailing you a check or making a one-time deposit in your new bank.
