90% of why most republicans are upset with Bush is because in many areas and on many issues - He's gone too far to the left.
He too was convincing enough to get Democrats believing he was nearer to the middle of the road... Which is why he some of the republicans who voted for him - basically voted to vote against Gore.
Who would have been a miserable President.

Check the statistics of how the more democratic states are less needy than some of the staunchest Republican states.
A lot of money earned and taxed in the Northeast goes to the anti-handout southern states as a handout, since there's still masses of poor there.
And MattDamon, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Brat Pitt, Angelinc Jolie are certainly not needy.

The Party of the needy you say? I think not. How about the party of equality.
One day you need help, you lost your job, the company moves operations overseas. Your savings is gone because you spent it on your mortgage, meds for you and your kids, food. Now your being foreclosed on and bills are piling up, the bill collectors are hounding you, the water and electric are getting ready to cut you off.
You've worked 40 years and never needed help before, you've fell on hard times and there are no programs to help. What are you going to do? Run to mommy and daddy? And what if your parents are dead? Bum off of friends and other family members? You won't have friends for long and the family is going to get sick of you fast. What are you going to do? Where are you going to go?
I believe some of you out there need to think a little harder on what you are headed for. Everyone is going to fall on hard times at some point in their lives, and thankfully we have programs in place to give a helping hand up, not a hand out.
Sure, most of you think, hey, it will never happen to me, but wait, it will. I hope it never happens to you, if it does, give thanks that there are programs that will help. without them the U.S. would have a smaller population.

The democrats are not the party of the needy. Bill Clinton was responsible for bringing the party to the middle. The Republican party is now the far right religious radical party. Bill Clinton is actually the one who initiated welfare reform. That was the platform he ran on.
Your question is one of ignorance. For goodness sake read a history book.

Not seeing a question here but I agree. The Dems are the party of the needy. What do they call Social Security, welfare, universal healthcare coverage. That's not to the neddy, come on. They get their power from the needy votes.

Why what is so great about equality? That just means that no matter how much harder you work you still get paid the same amount as me.
