That is if there is any truth to these Scotty Bowman rumours. He would fix what ails them.

Penguin cutie- don't believe everything that you read. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. People (Bowman especially) deny things falsely all the time.

I think Scotty Bowman can do a lot for any team, but the fact is that he is just one man. If this rumor pans out, and it is a sign of things to come, the Maple Leafs are certainly going to be a better run, and better performing team on the ice. A turnaround can begin with Mr. Bowman but it will be the future moves that will sell me on the notion that they are headed in the right direction.

I hope the fans of the Leafs get to live some glory. Except when they play the Flyers.

You've got to give me a link to this Scotty Bowman story here. I'm not sure I've heard about this...

An addendum: After I posted this yesterday, I then find the article about Bowman. Holy cripes! If Bowman worked for the Leafs, that would be like Michael Jordan working for the Pistons, Magic Johnson working for the Celtics, or Cal Ripken working for the Nationals. In other words, that is something that should NEVER happen!

I find the Title a litlle Offensive.. Scotty Bowman has denied this and said that no one has even told him about it, he didnt know anything about this until TSN started talking about it, so i dont know if its actually true or not, but how much of a difference is it going to make? the biggest difference will be John Mucklers Addition (if he gets the job) to the leafs staff, he will help John Feguson Jr. and hopefully John Ferguson will eventually get sacked, and there we go, we have a new GM.
Oh and Btw, i dont hear people making mean names about the Flyers so lay off the leafs.

Garbage. Mr. Bowman is doing quite well in Detroit and being compensated very nicely for his role. Just wishful thinking by TML brass.

I wish Detroit would trade for Carey Price....wishful thinking.

When I praise Wings management, I'm not just talking about Holland. They know what they have and will hand Scotty exactly what he needs to stay if he is not happy, just look at his deal now. Don't expect anything more from this.

I don't see this happening. The Leafs organization is terrible. The fans are just anticipating something good to happen but we'll still be Leafs fans no matter what. I could care less if Bowman ever came to the Leafs organization....

The Toronto Make Me Laffs who once played at Make Belive Gardens (all phrases coined by the late Dick Beddoes). It's a shame there are so many Leaf fans who have never really seen this club at it's best. I've seen the reports on tv so they must be close on this. Hopefully Scotty can beam the Leafs up the standings.

Just remember -- Scotty Bowman has won everywhere where he wasn't in charge. He was in charge in Buffalo, and the team slowly fell apart.

I think he's playing word games about offers, but it sounds like it could happen.

i don't think of the gang is over rated i think of the followers and Midea over fee them. however the gang is doing what maximum hockey human beings assume them to do and thats end someplace between 5th and 10th in the east and probably one get previous one around of the playoffs. it will be a good sport on Saturday it could pass the two way.

He said he hasn't recieved any offers but that might be a way of covering up these "offers so that Leafs fans don't just assume he will take the offers.

Hey, I didn't hear anything about this either Bobface. That's what happens when you don't live in Canada. LOL.

And I think the "official" spelling is "Toronto Maple Laffs". :P

I'm not convinced ANYone could fix them. If look up the Leafers on YouTube you get a lot of videos of the WEIRDEST things happening. I'm starting to buy into the superstitious theory about their tragic bad luck, haha.

EDIT: Two thumbs down? Okay, okay, yeesh---I didn't mean to sound so... antiLeafs (though I'm a fan of a different team and I'm technically anti every team besides that team). I just meant that it REALISTICALLY takes more than one person to fix something sometimes, and it wouldn't do you any good to view one person as your "saviour". Leafs fans have remained rabid, but where is your pride if you let management ruin your team every year? Maybe I just haven't heard about any protests personally...
