hey i was born and raised in Cleveland OH,... i really do miss it but its true that cleveland doesnt have the best weather bc its soooooooooo unfortunatly unpredictable! but there are very cold winters and around this time of the year is the hottest time like right now during the night time it was still abt.85 deg.
but i went to school in Cleveland Heights for most of my life but i moved around so much i had to transfer to different school districts the schools that i went to were pretty great although some of the schools in Cleveland are not as good as they could be...i had a great life there and things are now taking a turn for the better i hear..i have several family members and close friends of our family that work in the cleveland municipal school district and my cousin works for the board my aunt was and has been teacher of the year quite a few times and and my other aunt has been principle of several of the high schools in the city and also a teacher...
other good things about cleveland is that theres enough public transportation, great food, good music, and great entertainment! you dont absolutely have to have a vehicle to get around the city bc many things are in walking distance even in the outer suburbs of cleveland but things were great and are great there and i love it life is sorta slowed down there unless you live out in the city but things are good

Cleveland is the poorest big city in the country, and we are always competing with Detroit for that spot. If you have a high school diploma you will get by. If you have a college degree you will do great, as you will be in the top 10% (even more so if you are in the medical field, we have some high class hospital systems here). The cost of living is pretty low. By contrast some of the surrounding suburbs are some of the richest in the country. Stay away from East Cleveland, and most of the east side of Cleveland. The Detroit Shoreway is also pretty nasty. There is more poverty and crime in the city of Cleveland than in Atlanta, so be prepared. If you are educated and live in a decent area you will be fine though, its what you make of it.
There is a great music scene. Especially if you are into rock or rap. Lots of concerts.
There are good museums, Coventry is a nice artsy hangout. The flats if you like to party.
Good luck

I live in a Cleveland suburb, and I only go downtown for Indians baseball games and to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The rest of the city scares the crap out of me. The outskirts have not so nice housing (in my opinion...but don't believe that one post. They're not all white. Quite colorful actually). At night I wouldnt dare to walk alone. The city really has nothing interesting in my opinion (although I'm a teenaged girl, so what would I know?). And yes, the school systems suck and the whole city is rather poor.
So if you move there, move south to a suburb. Try Strongsville, North Royalton, Brecksville, etc. They are really nice, close to the city, yet far enough away to be different.

Cleveland is a great city. It's diverse, and there is always stuff to do. We have clubs, sports, museums, parks, restaurants, the lake, and you can just walk around and shop. Of course it has it's bad parts, but doesn't every big city? The weather isn't the best and sometimes it even sucks. But, I love Cleveland and I think it has a bad rap for reasons I don't know.

It's a nice city, its under construction. The job market is kind of shaky, but they do tend to hire people from out of town quicker then locals. The weather is in extremes, we get anywhere from a 6-7 months of cold ugly weather, then like 5-6 months of nice warm to hot temperatures. Cleveland is not as big as Atlanta, but on a whole Cuyahoga county is a nice place to live. There are a lot of things to do here on any given night, you just have to be familiar with the neighborhoods. I suggest you come to visit, if you're moving here in October, that's when the weather starts to change,if you can survive the ugly cold weather, then stay. Good luck.

Cleveland Rocks. Pure and simple.
It has bad hoods and good hoods. Columbus is not any better. Pro hockey in Columbus for $150 a seat, Pro Football, Baseball and Basketball in Cleveland. Nice lake if you like boating. Pick a good neighborhood and you'll love it.
Don't stay downtown like a stupid business traveler and think that's Cleveland. Get out around town and enjoy everything.

Well my husband had to go there on a business trip years ago, and he hated Cleveland. He said it was depressing, and
that all the houses were painted white. He said there was
nothing to do, except for TV and the movie theatres. So he
went to a theatre, and said it stunk of dry rot and mold. He now
describes the city, as the "Armpit of the World". So it never
sounded promising to me at all. So I just thought I'd put in the
opposite side of the coin, from an adults' point of view.
And maybe by now, there have been a few improvements.
Hopefully so.

It's not known for the best weather.
We're near Cedar Pt. The best amusement park on the planet.
It's the only place I've ever lived, so I couldn't tell you how it compares to elsewhere.
The school systems in and around Cleveland are poorly funded.
Anything else?
