really I dont think the eropeans were any smarter. in fact i think they were quite a bit dumber. but because they were an exteramly agressive agrataroal society they develoved strong sturdy houses, guns and ships for attacking others. while native americans did have houses,( peublo and hopi) alot of the tribes further north were nomadic and didnt nead permint structurs so didnt bother to learn to buid them. because the native american concept of war far did not include the utter distruction of your enmy but focused more on honor they didnt go so far into the development of wepons because what they ahd worked well. basicly the native people did not NEED to devlop thease things.

I wouldn't say the English were smarter than the Native Americans. Their technology as far as ships, guns, and houses go was only more advanced because it suited their way of life in the Old World (Europe, for you dumbf*ks). Not only the English, but Europe overall has a culture and history of warring with one another for land and glory so the technology they invented spawned from the need to be the "king of the castle", for lack of a better term.
Read up on manifest destiny. Europeans wanted to conquer any and all land they could get their hands upon no matter who owned it or was living on it previously. It's comparable to a child who steals candy out of a store because they felt like it, except
Obviously, not all Native Americans were passive and peaceful with one another, but Europe definetely takes the cake when it comes to trying to conquer everything.
For example, if the English were smarter or superior, why did so many of them die from diseases that could be cured from a simple thing like bathing? Their technology when it came to things like heath and medicine were still very primative. Native Americans used natural herbs and practices that may seem simple to some, but ones that Europeans couldn't for the life of them figure out.
The English's weaponry may have been more advanced, but they weren't intellectually superior to Indians.

They had gunpowder and guns, that was the deciding factor. And oh yeah, the diseases the Native Americans had no defense against. That said, did you know the Native Americans were extremely violent, tribes fought, they had practiced slavery? Humanity is not so different after all. As another said, read some history.

Let's put it simple. First they English came from Europe (another continent in case you don't know that) and while they were building houses, guns and all that (all those invents came from Europe too)they were also killing Indians, as for the Indians they were worry about surviving and NOT too worry about "getting civilized".

They didn't .check your history if it wasn't for the native Americans the first settlers would not have survived the 1st winter. Technology doesn't make you per se "smarter" just more advanced. Or would you prefer to be smarter but morally corrupt. That's what Europeans brought to these shores.

Well then why do so many white Americans today gloat of the 2% Native American heritage they have? You get whites that have a drop of Native Indian blood and they act like that gives them their ticket in and makes them Native American. It's a shame what Native Americans have gone through and even to this day you get the white "wanna-be" Native Americans that get scholarships for have a great-great-great grandparent being Native American over the true Native Americans of full heritage. Ironic huh?

I don't think they were smarter at all. They had more power, because they had the written word, the backing of a government, and a desire to claim as much "stuff" as they could find. They also thought they were the best because they were "civilized"...and that made them feel better than the Indians.
You can do a lot when you are convinced that you are superior!

when did that happen.? Were it not for the Indians, the original colonists would not have survived- they would not have lived to show how "smart" they were.
