I haven't seen this problem in a 1994 caddy but I think I know what the problem is. It sounds like the condensation that normally harmlessly drips down a hose in the outside of the car is either obstructed or clogged. If when you turn on the car and A/C, stay in neutral, for a few minutes and you don't see a puddle on the ground then you should check for proper drainage. The condensation is backing up cause stale water to stink up the car

Yes and no, my '88 bmw is a convertible and the top leaks when it rains, the sewer smell comes from the water sitting inside the car for long periods of time, it creates mold and mildew and that is likely what you are smelling.
As for the water in your case, it's likely condensation and it really shouldn't be dripping down inside, could be a plugged run off line or something of that nature.

sound like the drain hole for your condenser is plugged up. if you look under the car when the a/c is running there should be a little steady drip up by your firewall. (you probably notice this under most cars) well if there isnt any dripping that means the condensation isnt running on to the ground.. instead you are building a pool of stagnant water up in the bottom of your firewall and most likely when it gets full enough it is trickling down under your carpeting and pooling under the drivers seat. all you have to do is crawl under your car and clear the hole with a hanger or something... or have your mechanic blow some air through it you'll be good to go

Oh my, yes. You have a plugged up evaporator drain tube. There is a small drain hose that runs from the bottom of the The fix is to have a mechanic blow the tube out with compressed air. One the inside of the car dries out some Febreeze should take care of the smell.
