I am scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow and have been preparing all day. I have had 3 oz. of phospho-soda and 2 laxatives. Now I think I have developed a hemmoroid. Is this common and how does it go away. Will it affect the colonoscopy? I will discuss it with my doctor tomorrow but in the meantime wonder if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

You probably have irritation from having to use the toilet paper so much. Make sure they use plenty of lubrication when they do the procedure and it won't bother you so much. I also ask them to give me enough sedative to put me out during the procedure. If you request the same thing, you will sleep through it and wake up with no discomfort and feeling great. Good luck.

Everyone who has had one tells me that it is the most uncomfortable experience before and during, but the most comforting experience afterwards when you find out the results and nothing is wrong. Good luck, and I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Oh, yes. Preparation H pads, or Tucks pads help alleviate the discomfort. No, it will not affect the procedure.
