This depends on which party you belong to! A lot of us think that everyone should have the same rights, no matter who you are! Straight,and or gay! No one should be excluded from having civil rights, due to sexual orientation! No one!!!!!
OTHERS believe you can have only the ones 'they want you to have;
1 who you cam marry.! ( Gays)
2.What you can do with your own body! (FEMALES)
3. Push their religious agenda on you, whether you want it or not! ( No stem cell Research)
4. Deny help to those person who need it! ( Capitalist Power)
There really is not the room here, on how the others have screwed this country over, especially in the last seven years!
I am tired of them blaming my political beliefs,, for the mistakes that they make, or are too cowardly to take the credit for, take your pick! Oh, and of course, choose to claim that Bill Clinton, did it first!
The founding fathers set up a system, that worked at the time, but necessary changes would be needed as time passed! Thus the ability to amend the constitution!

If by the principles this country was founded on, you mean a system in which only rich white men could vote and there were few limits on state government, then the answer is that we are no longer following the principals of the founding. If you consider all of the Amendments enacted by the people since the founding as part of the principles of the founding, then the answer is that we are still following the basic principles of this Country (even though we may disagree about how those principles apply to particular issues).

I sure hope we are moving in a different direction being a woman i can now vote i can now talk back to my husband and i can now divorce him if he cheats,i don't have to sit back and get his permission to do what i want.
