That is because Desperado...I am not a reporter....
Jess that was the dumbest reasoning i've heard.... first of all asking them asking them simple minded questions to get their attentions so they dont look at the camera??? Yah ok... that's gonna work as opposed to ... How do you feel about the accident? Or what were you thinking when the bridge was collapsing? or when did you realize exactly what was happening.... They wont traumatize someone any more or any less... any way you slice it talking about it is reminding them what happend...there are too many reporters who are very condescending to the people they question....
as for the police... they cant tell the reporters what they can and cant as they can only advise the answerers of any legal problems that can arrise from saying certain things. Usually in cases of crimes(which has nothing to do with the bridge so i dont know why you brought it up....) the reporters will use words like alleged and speculation.... which are both indications that it's not known for sure..... UNLESS of course they know something like the identity of the deceased the police will ask they not release that info until the next of kin is notified.....

Sometimes the questions are deliberately stupid in hopes of prompting the person to pay attention to the reporter and not cameras or things going on around them. Other times, you're not allowed to ask certain questions because the police have forbidden it or it'll traumatize the person (Did you see him shoot the victim? What did it sound/look like?) but you know the audience at home wants first-hand reports so dumb questions are your compromise.

Now i hate to sound like an intruder looking in throwing my 2 cents around, yet hell that's what i'm, and that's what i will do... I honestly have infrequently seen a balanced and honest argument displayed on an American information community. maximum questions are noticeably preferable and accusatory in tone. in accordance with this question in specific, she is assuming that people might continuously act in yet another people terrific pastime. How splendidly naive of her. My i'm feeling quite un-computer immediately :)
