Go into a room and shut the blinds and put headphones on and listen to music and read a good book or magazine to prevent the sound waves from the thunder to reach your ears and to keep your mind off of the storm

I don't know why your're afraid of thunder, it's the lightning that you should be afraid of. Lightning is a known killer, thunder is just noise at 150+ dcb

try to overcome your fear. even me; i'm afraid of thunder too. just take note that if there is a thunderstrom, it's the time to use your mp3 player. the music from your mp3 could block the noise of the thunder, it also soothes you up. and dont panic if you heard it...

You're afraid of the wrong component of the storm.
Thunder is only a loud noise. Lightening, on the other hand, is
dangerous.

just put on some headphones. and if its at night try to sleep with some next to you. just be around people and distract your mind with some music
