I took my car there cause my transmission was ******. so they said it would be 1700 to fix. i said okay and i paid it. They "fixed" it and a couple days later it esses up again. So i took it back and they "fixed it " again. so i go and pick it up and they tell me if they could keep it for one more day to see if the computer is causing the poblem. So i LET them, and then te next day they said it was okay. So i drove it and a month later it messes up AGAIN. I just took it back a few days ago and they said theyre checking it to see if its the computer messing it up. They said they might have to replace it. Im thinking that they might charge me? am i obligated to pay? and what if it messes up again? am i obligated for a full refund?

what kind of car? year/make/model please.

some transmissions ARE controlled by the car computer.
if they're simply checking for codes all the time, that's only the first step.

please define what the symptoms are.

Aamco isn't to blame, the blame goes to the person doing the work.
Aamco simply is the warranter in this car.

you shouldn't owe anything, since the work is under warranty. you'd owe if a part that wasn't replaced was broke. but in this case, after several times of them not catching it, they'd probably just do it.
you are entitled to a refund, however you might have to jump thru some hoops, via small claims court.
you are still under warranty, if they cant fix it, you can say you'd like to bring it somewhere else and hand them the bill for it. they'd probably get it right after that.

No your not obligated to pay again. This is what is referred to as warrantee repair. They diagnosis the car the 1st time and made the repair. It isnt your fault for a misdiagnosis. But i would ask for a rental car in the time being because you are continually being put out of your way without a car to use. If all else fails you can go to a small claims court. The entire problem may have all been with the computer controlling the trans anyway...

good luck....

I can't think of a more crooked tranny shop that's nation wide than aamco, thru personal and business related experiences, this is by far the last place i would take a vehicle for transmission problems, good luck

I have a feeling that your transmission wasn't the problem, it was the computer. Aamco has never had a good rep., in fact, aamco stands for All Automatic Must Come Out.
