Why don't people like him?
I found him very motivational, and I liked what I heard.

What's your take on Obama?

I like him too. He's is a very intelligent, compassionate, dedicated man with a lot of integrity. Something we haven't seen in many years in Washington. Unfortunately, politics and politicians may be his downfall. He tells the truth and is forthright and that scares them They twist his words and say he's naive, inexperienced and rash. This is a man who can listen to BOTH sides of an argument and with logical thought processes come up with rational ideas. Again, something we're not used to today. He is actually what the American people say they want, a change from politics as usual, but it will be hard to get some people to see thru the negative spin put on everything he does or says. The "Clintonoids" have gone into "take no prisoners" mode, the Republicans scoff at his ideas, and the truth is he's a better person than all of them.

In all truthfulness, the people that don't like him range from those who say he isn't experienced enough to be President to he's a black #$%&##. Unfortunately, we as Americans don't really know what it takes to be President. We all have our takes on what we like in presidential candidates. My take on Obama is this:

He is relatively new to politics compared to many other Presidential candidates both Democrats and Republicans. I find that refreshing and promising. He is a very good speaker and motivator. I think this one of the many traits a President must have, the ability to move and inspire people. He is a very intellectual guy who has shown good judgement thus far in many current important issues (i.e. while he was a State Senate legislator he was opposed to going to war in Iraq for many of the same reasons we see today, no exit strategy and islamic radical violence being center stage).

Bottom line, if you like what you hear from him, go to his Presidential campaing website to learn more about him and how to help his campaign...

He seems to lack character because he has spent his 2 years in the Senate promoting his book and running for president. What does anyone actually know about him--about his past??

Sorry but an Obama presidency could be just as disastrous as the Bush presidency. The last thing the US needs is another inexperienced idealist in charge.

I think Obama is very engaging to listen to, however ask him a direct question and see what you get. As a farmer I have questions about the Farm Bill due in October. I have asked all of the candidates about this issue, Obamas' camp has yet to provide an answer. Our vetran candidates had answers for me right away which shows a broader understanding of all the issues. So frankly I don't think he is ready for the white house.

Have you seen the Democratic debates? I haven't heard his speeches, but he doesn't seem to be very good in an unrehearsed debate setting.

He is an excellent communicator. That is the reason for his popularity. People question whether he has enough experience to be President.

He is a left wing liberal loony. He says whatever he has to in an effort to get votes.
