Was it good? I read the book. Will I be disappointed?

I have read the book and have seen the movie...
The movie follows the book well enough in my opinion because usually movies exclude many details. There will be slight disappointments because you want more detail, but if you honestly consider it, the detail wasn't major and it was obvious that the director would leave it out.
The characters do great roles, especially the young girl who plays Sayuri and the older woman who plays Pumpkin.
Overall it wasn't bad at all. Give it a try, of course, you are entitled to your own opinion.
I enjoyed the book more than the movie.

I've seen the movie and read the book. The book goes into much more detail than the movie. If you see the movie and then read the book afterwards you'll see that the book goes past what the movie did in the end. I love the movie and good isn't bad but its rather long, but good nonetheless. If you're into the Orient like I am, you'll love the movie.

I read the book and watched the movie. I am more loyal to the book because it gives way more details compare to the movie. I think you will enjoy the movie because of the plot, background and music. However, you might find it disappointing understanding the actresses. The actresses are all experience in acting, but they have difficulties speaking accent-free English.

definitely see the movie!! it was a lot different than the book, but still a good story. and if you've read the book, you understand what's going on a lot better.
i don't think you'll be disappointed. it was absolutely GORGEOUS and all the characters were well played.

The book is a lot more thorough than what is portrayed in the movie. The acting wasn't so bad, but a lot of the actresses in the movie were not really Japanese. I let you read more the info found on this web...

in haven't read the book but my friend did and we saw the movie together and she said that it was really good like the same goodness as the book, and for me who didn't read the book, it was still really good

I have seen the movie and I loved it!! I love the cinema photography, and the bright colors they used. Its a must see..
