If you are trying to change the IP address on your internet side then you just need to turn off your broadband modem and router and count to 10 then turn them back on again.

If you want to get a new Internal IP address for the computer from the router then follow the below instructions:

1) Double click on the Network Icon in your system tray
2) Select the Support Tab accross the top
3) Click the repair button

do you want to change the ip address of your computer or of your internet connection that your linksys router has?

the latter requires that you simply reset your linksys router. turn it off, wait about 10 minutes, turn it back on. although this does not always work, depending on your ISP.

to change the ip address of your computer that is connect to the linksys router, click on start, run, then type

ipconfig /renew

and press enter. dont' forget the space between ipconfig and /renew. no space between / and renew either.

command line ipconfig/all
then look at choices.
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
Might be an all switch, depends on which version DOS it is.
Next, shut down, unplug the router, wait 15-25 seconds, power back on, re-boot
Then ipconfig again to check.
