I was just wondering, because sometimes I watch and its like they are really bad actors, and now Kat is getting her own show. I mean how scripted is this show, more so than, are they real tatoo artist. I'm sure they are.
Has anyone else noticed that some times it seems really scripted?

I just was thinking how convenient it seemed that in the last episode of Miami Ink, Nunez and Ami got into a fight, and it looks as though they may split up as business partners and now Kat has her own show. That's all, plus their fight wasn't even all that convincing if you know what I mean.

The shop is co-owned by tattoo artists Ami James and Chris Núñez, and also features artists Chris Garver, Darren Brass and Yoji Harada. California artist Kat Von D joined the shop during the first season while Brass had an injured arm. At the end of season two, however, Kat left the show after a series of escalating personal differences with Ami James. She has now started her own tattoo shop called High Voltage Tattoo in LA. The shop also has a show on TLC called LA Ink which premiered on August 7, 2007.

Each episode features a number of customers along with their backstories and motivations for choosing their tattoos. There is also some focus on the personal lives of the artists. Most of the episodes are narrated by James, with Nuñez occasionally filling in. The main musical theme for the show is "Funky Kingston" by Toots and the Maytals. The show has on occasion featured the personalities from other TLC shows such as American Chopper.

The artists on the show are only there during tapings. In order to be tattooed by these artists, customers need to apply on TLC.com [1].

Miami Ink is real as far as I know. It may seem scripted for some portions because ove voice-overs they have to give to make the story flow, and also in "reality" TV they make them re-do stuff that happened so they can get it at different angles I think, or if they didn't get it "just right" the first time.

I watch Miami Ink for entertainment. I think I will also watch Kat's new show. I'm sure we are only shown what they feel are the most entertaining customers.
