i have seen my GP about my chest problems and somewhat circulation/nerve problems (im not entirely sure what the cause is as i have so much pain all around the body, mainly my chest)..

he gave anti-depressants and reffered me to a cardiologist. Still it has not gone..
All the cardioligist did was do an ECG and a heart pump test thingy? i was quite displeased because after the wait of an hour just to see a cardioligist he joked that i was too young to have heart problems, i was annoyed and quite sad.. i was hoping for more tests like treadmill etc.

I want to have as many tests done as possible.
im now unsure of what to do next, is it my GPs fault or the cardioligists fault?

i want a full scan of the body (preferbly an MRI and things like that) but i dont know where to look or find a doctor who will actually listen to me. If i ask a doctor for further testing they wont do it.

ive been choking in my sleep recently and waking up due to chest pain. ive been coughing alot too recently.

Since you have trouble while you are sleeping - go back to your GP & emphasize this.

You might have a sleep disorder & need a sleep test. You will be referred to a sleep specialist. (i.e. pulmonology, neurology)

For example, people w/ sleep apnea experience having their airway constricted which lowers the oxygen in their bloodstream & prevents them from getting into deep sleep.

Keep a journal to document the date & time of each event. Describe each one in detail. Tally up the frequency & specify the types of pain you experience. The more information you can give your doctor, the better.

As for the cardiologist, he/she probably sees lots of seriously ill people & was trying to put you at ease. It's scary for most people to think about having a heart problem.

You need to go see another cardiologist right away and ask for an MRI or CT Scan. What you are experiencing is called "Angina Pectoris". Pain and discomfort are the main symptoms of angina. These symptoms are often described as pressure, squeezing, burning, or tightness in the chest. Usually start in the chest behind the breastbone. May also occur in the arms, shoulders, neck, jaw, throat, or back.

Angina is caused by reduced blood flow to an area of the heart. This is most often due to coronary artery disease (CAD). Sometimes, other types of heart disease or uncontrolled high blood pressure can cause angina.

In CAD, the coronary arteries that carry oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle are narrowed due to the buildup of fatty deposits called plaque. This is called atherosclerosis. Some plaque is hard and stable and leads to narrowed and hardened arteries. Other plaque is soft and is more likely to break open and cause blood clots. The buildup of plaque on the inner walls of the arteries can cause angina in two ways: by narrowing the artery to the point where the flow of blood is greatly reduced or by forming blood clots that partially or totally block the artery.

This may be a silly question- but did you mention to your gp that you have been "choking" in your sleep and waking up due to chest pain? You may have acid refulx. Perhaps if you didn't tell your gp about those symptoms- call and leave a message with the RN.
