Check the indoor blower. If you have no air movement, the system will frost over. Check the filter, make sure it is clear and air can get through. Replace if needed. If the indoor fan is not blowing, check the circuit breaker for the indoor unit. If you have power, check the blower door panel to make sure the safety lockout is not open. If it is closed, do you have a belt-drive blower, or direct drive? check to see if the belt is good. If no belt, or belt is OK, check the motor. Is it hot, is it humming? could be a bad capacitor. Turn off the power and follow the purple wires from the fan motor, they go to the capacitor. Examine the capacitor, is the top popped up? If it looks ok, spin the motor. Does it spin freely, or is there resistance? If there is resistance, does it have lubrication ports, or is it permanently lubricated? Lubrication will buy you a few days until you can get a replacement motor. If no lube ports, you'll need a replacement motor. You'll need the voltage, horsepower, make and model number if available, shaft diameter, rotation from the shaft end, and amperage. Pick up a new run capacitor when you order the motor.

OR

Call a service technician.

One of 2 possible issues.
The defrost mechanism of your outdoor unit is faulty - or - your system is running low on refrigerant.
My guess is the defrost.
Either way you need an A/C technician. Choose a good one, with experience and don't choose the cheapest, there are loads of cowboys out there all too willing to take your money. If you lived in my country I could recommend a few...

It is low on freon and will need to be recharged The unit will have to be ice free for a service man to recharge it correctly you will want to thaw it out to save you both time and money before you call the service man and this way it will look like you know what you are doing also.
Check your furnace filter also it can cause this and if it is really bad replace it and try that before calling for service.
