when I joined I saw mostly nice people, now it seems more and more I am seeing nasty comments on people's questions, sometimes including my own. is yahoo! answers getting too out of control and mean/rude? or is it just because now I've been on here longer I see more people and what they are like?

yeah, i HATE when i get rude answers, or ones that dont even answer my question...its really annoying. just because its the internet doesn't mean you shouldn't show people some respect.

I interact only w/ the nice ppl. I just ignore the rest. With a thing like YA you are bound to eventually come across idiots. That is the nature of the human condition. There is good and bad in everything!

As the popularity of a site grows, so does the number of ignorant people and their responses. This site was originally good for very specific technical questions being asked by good people. Now the questions and the answers have gone way down to new lows.

I joined more than a year ago. People were much nicer and there wasn't as many of them. With increased numbers you get increased diversity. There are times when there are angry or mean people on here but I just ignore them and refuse to let them ruin my day.

It's not your imagination. There are some people who are mean,
rude and out of control. I think that the anonymity is what drives them.
Really sad isn't it??

YA represents a cross section of American. That means that you will necessarily have all types of people. We have differing opinions on just about everything. Even what is mean and what is rude.Personally, that is what I like about it.

Like the mountain ....sometimes you're on the rough side & other times you remember why you like to fly down the mountainside.
There is an ebb& flow to Y!A tthat particular meanie moves on ... but soon another comes and take its place.

It's summer and all the 12 year olds have nothing better to do then **** around because their mommy's won't let them out while they are at work!
