I'm worried that someone will find it. I'm going to go out today and buy a new front door, door handle and dead bolt combination.

D.R. Horton is telling me that Schlage is much better than Kwikset. The house came with Schlage, should I just stick with it?

CORRECTION...
I'M NOT BUYING A NEW DOOR!
JUST THE DOOR HANDLE AND DEAD BOLT.

AND YES...WHEN D.R. HORTON GAVE ME MY KEYS THEY HAD A TAG THAT HAD MY ADDRESS. THEY STRESSED I REMOVE IT, BUT I NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT.

THANKS!

Schlage is better but why are you worried that someone will find it? How would anyone know what or who the key belongs to unless you had it tagged with your address. Besides all outdoor locks in new homes are keyed the same. Will you then be replacing all the outer doors? You might be jumping the gun a bit.

Someone will find the key. So what. There is more than 1 key combination cut, so the chances of them finding your house to work the key is somewhat remote.(unless you left your name and address on it)
Even then, you have house insurance and theft insurance do you not?
Schlage is a good lockset used on many new homes.

You don't need to buy a new door just a lockset, or have a locksmith come out and change the locks. really not a big deal!

A Locksmith can save you a lot of money and rekey all your locks to a single key and provide as many copies as you wish!

Call a locksmith to come change your locks. Lots cheaper than replacing everything!

It would be much cheaper to take your existing locks in and have them re keyed.
