My friend Sedgewick the hedgehog is in Mrs tiggy winkles rescue home at the moment because some one used a strimmer on his face.
Why don't you use edging shears?
And did you know their numbers are in decline and they may be extinct in the next 20 years.
Help save them and be careful not to run them over because they are so sweet and harmless.
Regards Moley

It may interest you to know that I am an animal advocate -- not an activist -- and I regularly contribute to animal protection agencies: The Fund for Animals, The Humane Society of the United States, North Shore Animal League, PITA, and many others. I also rally for legislation to prevent cruelty and neglect of our feathered and furry friends. That includes hedgehogs and your friend, Sedgewick. Bally ho!

I don't know what a strimmer is, but I'm sure it is not pleasant. I support hedgehogs through Hedgehogs of Georgia (www.HOGS.com) write to them, and they may give you some tips.
As to your second question, hedgehogs are in serious decline, as due to global warming, they are evaporating at an alarming rate.

I'm in the U.S., so we don't have hedgehogs, but their cousins the groundhog, or woodchuck.
My neighbors keep trapping them and taking them away. It makes me sad because they go by daily around the same time, one in particular, that reminds me of the chinaman in cannery row.
Next time I find that havahart trap out, I'm going to put a beanie baby inside and release it.
And again and again...because I need something to do with these beanie babies.

I'm sorry to hear of your hedgehog problem. I think they are adorable. I live in the states so I've only ever seen one in the zoo. Good luck.

Strimmer my ****!

That's his cover story. He cut himself on the nose while ditching the paparazzi after an all-nighter with Lindsay Lohan...

Now I feel bad for running one over while swerving to avoid hitting a cute little sheepie.
