The best setup would be to move the wireless router upstairs as it would increase the wireless coverage and might provide enough for all of your computers since the signal has an umbrella effect and should be located at the highest point possible.

Yes, the routers can be connected assuming they both have an unpopulated port and/or an uplink port to connect via a LONG cable OR you have a computer to act as a server with a wireless and a wired NIC to act as a bridge between the two.

I am sure it is possible all you have to do is connect from the Wall to the DSL Router to the Wired Router then to the Wireless router. YOu may have network setup issues though. Best advice is to sell them both on ebay and buy a new wireless router that can support wired networking.

I haven't done this but what you are looking for is essentially "daisy chain router" in your search engine. After reading a few of them, this link seemed to have a reliable description indicating that it does work.

From the link below:

"disable the DHCP in the 2nd router and connect a standard cat5 from the 4th port on the first one, to the 1st port on the 2nd... don't use the WAN port."

Other articles talked about setting up wireless access points so you may wish to check that out too.

Good luck.

okay so u just need an access point .. dont get two routers or else you going to have to uplink them and on the other router you will have to turn of DHCP or you will be pulling hair trying to get them to work properly..

One router and access point does the job for you or get a repeater-the newer ones that attach to the wall and you can plug an ethernet cable through it .. that works as well.

a repeater just amplifies your signal so it keeps going and i believe thats what you need right?
