Both sides got a good deal. The Marlins got Ramirez and Sanchez, who will be great in the future, and the Red Sox get Lowell and Beckett, who are good now. Lowell has really been keeping the offense together, and Beckett is a Cy Young contender this year, but Hanley won the Rookie of the Year last year, leads the NL in batting average, and can hit homeruns and steal bases in a hitters ballpark. Sanchez threw a no-hitter, but is currently injured. Hanley is definetely going to be an All-star for years to come, but I'm not so sure about Annibal. Only time will tell if this truly was a good trade for the Red Sox.

I would love to have Hanley on the Red Sox right now but Beckett and Lowell are doing great for the Sox so if the Red Sox can win the division this year and maybe win the World Series I see it as a good trade for both teams.

The Red Sox seem to be taking the approach that you do what you can to get a young, established pitcher. Ramirez was one of their top prospects, but Beckett was 25 at the time of the trade and had a chance to be really good. Lowell has proven to be useful, and Beckett seems like he'll be a big part of the rotation for years to come.

So, neither team is complaining. And that's what you want out of a trade.

Beckett might get a Cy Young award and the Red Sox might have a shot at the World Series, much to my dislike. Mike Lowell is a great presence in the clubhouse...he has experience and smarts enough to be a manager when he retires. I think it was a good trade.

Right now im not sure, although Becket and Lowell are putting together pretty solid seasons. I think in a year or two youll really be able to tell. So far this year with the sox in first, i will say it was a good trade.

there are pros and cons for both sides. beckett is an all star and sanchez is injured. lowell has been the anchor of th red sox offense this year because manny and big papi are having power outages, and ramirez has cabrera who is ahving a monster year.
