My mom told me many things, but I'll never forget when she used to tell me to make sure that I always wore clean underwear, in case I got hit by a car & had to go to the hospital.

I wasn't so young but she told me not to ever marry an alcoholic man he would make my life miserable, too late, I had already done it. Now the habit is so deep I live alone in order not to be used or abused, although I have not drank myself in 27 years and I know mostly sober men, they are still recovering alcoholics. My life is sad alot.

Buy the smallest house in the best neighborhood-or maybe it cheapest, worst house....
The sink doesn't look clean unlless the faucet is shiny.
Hold in your stomach. Stand up straight.
Close dresser drawers and cupboards-otherwise whole room looks messy. No brushing hair in the kitchen.
And she always said "my mother used to say" before all of these.....

Haha. That's cute!
My mom also told me many things.
One of them was:
Siblings are and always will be the most important people in your life. Always protect each other.

I have a younger brother and sister and all three of us get along really great. We all agree my mother was totally right!

My dad was far from religeous but he always said--God hates a liar and a thief and God helps those that help themselves. I never stole anything and I never asked for help unless I was incapable of working one more job. We had a pact that he didn't owe me and I didn't owe him and we had a great relationship until he died. Mom's input was get the switch--look what she did today!! ha!

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
If everyone else jumps off the bridge are you gonna do it too?
A bird in the bush is worth two in the hand.
Always treat others the way you want to be treated.
