I don't know which was the "best" baseball movie, there's a lot of great ones! "Major League" is far and away the funniest baseball movie. "Fear Strikes Out" is the saddest along side "Pride of the Yankees". There's an old William Bendix movie about a cross-eyed umpire called "Kill the Umpire" that's pretty hilarious also.

A great movie about the 1919 Black Sox Scandal. Can't wait until there is a movie about baseball and its ties to steroids.

my favorite is It Happens Every Spring which is an old b/w about a scientific discovery that repels wood, so if it is rubbed on a baseball then no one can hit it, it's pretty funny
FOD is pretty good too.
I think Pride of the Yankees is generally considered one of the best bb movies ever made.

Bull Durham.
Most utterly beautiful movie, and a good second-place for drama, is The Natural.
Funniest is Major League. Even the dumb jokes are still pretty good.
