I don't care about the points but I do care about getting a best answer because i think that tells more about the person than how many points they have?

I care about getting Best Answers mainly. It is much better if you write a good answer that is worth reading.

I don't care about the points too much either now that I am ranked high enough to not have any restrictions.

Points mean nothing after you reach level 7. There's no more levels to try & reach...
