There has to be more to the story... If there isn't, then I would say it has something to do with the coach. It's HS football, you can play multiple positions, become a true athlete. It will open up even more exposure for you to scouts. So although it may not be what you want, it can very well work out for you in the end.
If there is, ask your coach for advice into what he is looking for in the position you desire. Or better yet, ask what he is looking for in you! That may shed some light on what he is thinking and you can decide if you agree with what he expects.

Just because its not as glorified of a position, doesn't mean its not a vital piece of a football team, your'e seeing more and more athletic lineman, that can really get out in front and pull for the backs, rather than the heavyset ones. If your coach put you there he probably knows what hes doing. Go in there like a man possessed, lay people out on your blocks, and the coach might see something in you that he can utilize elsewhere on the field.

A similar thing happened to me when I was a freshman, I wanted to play QB and ended up playing defensive end. After a practice I sat down with my coach and talked about it. I explained my heart was in being a qb not a dl. I started at QB by the end of the year.

oh you must have a coach like I did and assume that if you're tall you should play line. Ask him if you can switch positions to something that might suite you better. Maybe he sees a lot of potential for you to bulk up. Just don't be afraid to ask him why he thinks you should play line and that it frustrates you. What about a TE position?

Does your team have a lot of size? If not, that may be the reason you were put on the line.

Because he want's You to be able catch the reciever easily. But do you have the human bull dozing power to plow the
defensive down? That's what makes it stupid.

That's bullcrap.
If you're THAT tall and THAT fast, and if you know how to catch (which I'm guessing you do), you belong at WR.

You must be pretty bad at catching, throwing, covering, tackling, running routes, holding on to the ball, etc etc..
