I have a good friend of many years, and......?

Question

her car broke down. The mechanic said the part to fix it, would cost $300. I'm not rich, but she told me, that friends should help friends, and she wants me to just give her the $300. I can't, because it is rough on me....to get by.
What should she do....???

She lost her job, living on unemployment. It is about to run out. Her father passed away 2 years ago...her mom is a hard nose @$#&%
We are not related, just close friends... I'm not financially able to help her...

Your "friend" sounds more like a "user".

She's trying to guilt trip you into taking care of her responsibility. You might want to think about some of the other things that this person has has asked you for over the years. Then ask yourself has this relationship been GIVE and take?
You may come up with an interesting answer if you really think about it.
I would not do it. Nor would I ask. Especially if it will put you in a jam.

maybe she can ask her parents, i dont think that is right for her to ask you for the money for her car, youre not the one driving the car and regardless whether you two are friends you shouldnt be the one having to pay for her car, doesnt she have a job? how is she paying to the car insurance?

well first of all if she's presuring you
by saying" i'll be mad" or "i won't be your friend"
then its obvious that you shouldn't trust her
if its rough on you then don't do it...
why doesnt she ask her parents
