If impeachment fails, would it not tend to vindicate rather than find fault?. In politics, you either win or lose.

I do believe we should start impeachment proceedings. I believe that everyone in our government including congress should be kicked out. I know it will never happen but we just need to get rid of everyone and start over fresh. I still cannot believe that bush and cheney were even re-elected. The funny thing is after everything the current government has messed up there are still people who try to blame everything on the democrats. I wish someone could explain that to me.

You are correct - the powers of the President are partly determined by precedent, and each successive President has somewhat followed George Washington's example, but many have also extended what a President can and cannot do. Later Presidents begin their first term with all the powers of the previous ones, except those that have been limited by acts of Congress, or been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. If no one challenges Bush's ridiculous expansion of these powers, all of them will devolve upon the next President when she takes office.

Please specify exactly what part of the Constitution Bush has trampled on. There is no specific and you would not be able to find any. He has consistently acted according to the rules, laws and precedences that have long been established. In fact, most of the things that you would have Bush impeached for are exactly the same things the Clinton used to get his way, things which Clinton was not impeached for but commended for.
So why is there a double standard for a republican administration?
You libs need to get over the fact that this country does not want to be a socialist nation like France. We take pride in being the greatest country on this earth and will continue to be so as we slowly eliminate socialism wherever it rears its ugly head.

The Impeachment issue has become a joke.
It's almost as funny as the Senate's feeble attemps to actually organize and start impeachment hearings.
Hell,Congress can'tr even successfully take a vote to go to the bathroom.

I believe that the Democrats should have made a move to have Bush and Cheney impeached purely on moral grounds. Unfortunately, the Democrats need a spine transplant and a testicular transplant.

We need to impeach them just as a reminder to them that in this country, we work under LAWS and especially the supreme law of the land: The Constitution of the USA, which they have stepped all over since Chimp took over.

Dems won't want to tie themselves to DC for an extended and complicated impeachment proceeding when it's fundraising and election season

Our rights are swept under the carpet when it comes to getting the right thing done. Both parties want re-election and both ignore us. Bush has done enuff to get impeached but no one will take the stand.
