in the prisoner of azkaban wen they were in the shrieking shack..why did the spell expelliarmus blasted snape into the wall or watever instead of disarming him?? cuz i know expelliarmus is a disarming spell... (sorry im a harry potter fanatic lol)

The expelliarmus spell DOES, indeed, disarm...and I believe it did disarm him. However, with the sheer force and emotion behind the incantation, no less from THREE of them at once - there was a lot of power there, so he was knocked out as well.

The more people that do a spell at the same time, the harder effect is has on your body, like Professor McGonogal in the 5th book.

It works for me in real life but apparently in the movie it fails because they wanted to be able to say no people were hurt in the filming of this movie.

It did disarm him, but it was done so enthusiatically, and by three people, that it caused him to pass out.
