Most folks would argue that the 1st rock song would be "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley and The Comets.
I would argue that Move It On Over is about as country as it gets, and this is coming from a fan of Hank Williams.
However, if you really want to go back and find the, as you say, "oldest" rock song, you'd probably have to drag up some old gospel or blues songs, and maybe even some jazz numbers from the 20s. That genre of music was absolutely responsible for the time progressions and rhythms that morphed into what we now call "rock."

Sam Phillips, owner of Sun Records, said it was "Rocket 88" by Jackie Breston with Ike Turner (pretty close rtanys). Recorded at Sun Records March 5th, 1951. Phillips would know since his label was regarded as the founder of rock & roll. For the record, Elvis's "That's All Right Momma", and Carl Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes" were both recorded at Sun after "Rocket 88".

Many rock aficionados credit Ike Turner with writing the first rock and roll song. It's called "88 Keys" and was recorded in 1955, I believe.

I think the oldest real official rock song is Elvis' That's Alright, Mama". It was his first recording at Sun Recording Studio. Must have been in the early fifties. Although really a blues song, everything Elvis did was considered "rock" back in the '50's.

Impossible to tell, especially since everybody has different ideas of what rock is.But the other answers give some good examples of what might be considered the first.

thats debatable as the term rock and roll was in fact coined by allan freed, a disc jockey from cleveland. generally the start of this era was recognized as thats all right mama 1954. from elvis. if your determining it from the time the term rock and roll was being used..it would be bill haley and rock around the clock.

Bill Haley's Rock Around The Clock is always been tagged as the first rock hit, but IDK what really is the 1st rock song. Maybe no one really knows, especially if it never made it to record or billboard.
